With Thanksgiving now past, we move into the best time of year for drinking serious
bottles. What better way than to get into the holiday spirit than by cracking open some fully mature Rauzan Segla. 1981 is a vintage that is a little under the radar. Especially coming right before the iconic 1982, the 81′s are a bit leaner and less opulent but they are quite simply, drinking beautifully now. Aromatically this wine is classic Margaux with loads of incense and spice with a fully integrated palette with earth and fruit flavors that really evolve and bloom with time in the glass. It is heady and complex and keeps your nose coming back to mine it’s substantial depths. We don’t have a ton of these bottles in stock, and at $79.99, we don’t expect it to stick around very long. So if you are someone who loves vintage Bordeaux or if you have always wanted to experience what all the fuss is about, this wine is an unbeatable deal. And for those with many mouths to feed, we have a very rare 6L bottle of this gem that promises to be even more delicious than it’s more modest sized sibling.
