Rosé At Home: Taste With Us

We want to take a moment, as the holiday weekend dawns on us, to talk with you about how to organize an at-home tasting! There's no better way to experience wine than with friends. And there's no better time than...you guessed it....NOW!

Maybe you've read our Wine 101: How to Taste like a Pro blog. Now it's finally time to put those skills to the test. Taste along with us from home!

...First, let's narrow down exactly what we want out of our at home tasting.

How do you pick wines for a wine tasting?

Start by creating a flight, or a group of wines to taste. Three to six different wines are an appropriate number.

What it is you want to compare?

They can be covering one category, i.g. 3 wines from the same place, 3 wines of the same grape or grape blend from different places, 3 wines of the same grape made with different methods, etc.

What do you want to learn?

Going hand in hand with what you want to compare, this is about narrowing down exactly what topic (in the great big wine world) you would like to zero in on. By knowing what you'd like learn about (region, soil, climate, grape variety, style or production method) you can focus on gathering wines that will show up for you in the glass.

For today, I thought it would be fun to do A ROSÉ FLIGHT. The focus is on one style (rosé) most which follow the same production method. There is so much more to this category of wine that summer fun and simple sipper. Check out our Rosé FAQ blog as you begin to taste.

Below are suggestions for flights that I think would make for an interesting study.

To taste along at home CHOOSE EITHER one category OR one bottle from EACH category. Obviously, these two options will give you very different tasting experiences as will each individual category.
These are just example wines, feel free to build your own flight. If you ever need help planning a tasting, stop by our shop--that's what we're here for
